Test G: The Digital Versatile Disc (DVD) Player Is Inoperative/Does Not Operate Correctly
PINPOINT TEST G: THE DIGITAL VERSATILE DISC (DVD) PLAYER IS INOPERATIVE/DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLYG1-G4:
Normal Operation
The DVD player receives a wake up signal from the audio unit through the controller area network (CAN). The DVD player receives voltage (at all times) through circuit 1563 (LG), and ground through circuit 1204 (BK/OG). When a video disc is inserted into the DVD player and the PLAY button is pressed, an image is displayed on the screen and a stereo signal is transmitted to the audio unit on circuits 1803 (WH), 1804 (LG), 1805 (RD) and 1806 (BK).
If there is an open in circuit 1563 (LG) or circuit 1204 (BK/OG), a no communication condition will occur.
Possible Causes
- Fuse
- Circuit 1803 (WH) open or short to ground
- Circuit 1804 (LG) open or short to ground
- Circuit 1805 (RD) open or short to ground
- Circuit 1806 (BK) open or short to ground
- Circuit 2180 (WH/BK) open or short to ground
- Circuit 2181 (BK/YE) open or short to ground
- DVD player
