Refer to the Supplemental Restraints System (SRS) Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Table when DTC B2290 is reported by the RCM for diagnostic instructions. Diagnostic Trouble Code Tests and Associated Procedures
- The pinpoint test must only be used to diagnose DTC B2290 when reported by the OCS module.

Normal Operation
The OCS is used to classify the front passenger seat occupant in the event of a deployable impact.

The OCS module monitors the 2 OCS rails (weight sensors) and circuitry for faults. If the OCS module detects a fault with the sensor(s) or circuitry, it will store DTC B2290 in memory and send a message to the RCM which illuminates the air bag indicator.

Fault Conditions
The OCS module monitors for the following fault conditions:
- A faulted circuit
- An OCS rail fault

Possible Causes
An OCS system fault can be caused by:
- damaged wiring, terminals or connectors.
- a faulty OCS system component.
