Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the master cylinder.





3. Remove the actuator rod retaining clip.





4. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake booster.





5. Remove the idle bypass hose.





6. Disconnect the crankcase breather hose.
7. Evacuate the air conditioning system.
8. Disconnect the air conditioning line.





9. Vehicles equipped with automatic transaxle, Remove the automatic transmission fluid dipstick.





10. Remove the brake booster.
- Remove the four nuts.

CAUTION: Do not pull on the accelerator and/or speed control cables.

INSTALLATION





1. Install the brake booster.

CAUTION: Do not pull the accelerator and/or speed control cables.





2. Vehicles equipped with automatic transaxle, Install the automatic transmission fluid dipstick.
3. Connect the air conditioning pipe.
4. Refill the air conditioning system.





5. Install the crankcase breather hose.





6. Install the idle bypass hose.





7. Install the vacuum hose to the brake booster.





8. Install the actuator rod retaining clip.
9. Install the master cylinder.
10. Reconnect the battery ground cable.
