Parking Brake Cable: Adjustments

CABLE ADJUSTMENT
1. Make sure parking brake control is fully released.
2. Raise and support vehicle.





3. Using Rotunda Cable Tension Gauge or equivalent, tighten adjusting nut against rear parking brake cable adjuster, until cable tension (with control released) is 15.8-20.8 Kg (34-46 lbs).
4. Stroke parking brake control fully and release.
5. Verify cable tension is still within specification and there is no drag on rear brakes.
6. Apply the Service brake pedal a few times and verify that the rear brakes do not drag when the rear wheels rotate.
7. Verify that the manual release parking brake control lever stroke is five to seven notches when applied with a foot-pedal force of 98 N (22 lb).
