NOTE: This procedure is used to diagnose DTC's C1145, C1148, C1222 RH Front sensor & circuit.B1- CHECK RH FRONT ABS SENSOR
- Turn ignition switch to "OFF".
- Disconnect connector C1057 from ABS Control Module.
- Connect breakout box and adapter to harness connector C1057.
- Measure resistance between breakout box Pin 20, Circuit 514 (Y/R) and Pin 7, Circuit 516 (Y/BK).
- Is resistance between 1280 and 1920 ohms?
YES - Go to B3
No - Go to B2
B2- CHECK RH FRONT ABS SENSOR RESISTANCE
- Disconnect RH front brake anti-lock sensor C1000.
- Measure resistance between the pins of the front ABS sensor.
- Is resistance between 1280 and 1920 ohms?
YES - Service Circuit 514 (Y/R) or Circuit 516 (Y/BK) for an open circuit.
No - Replace RH Front Brake Anti-lock Sensor.
B3- CHECK RH FRONT ABS SENSOR VOLTAGE
- Turn ignition switch to "OFF".
- Raise and support vehicle. Wheels should be free to turn.
- Set voltmeter to "2 VOLT, AC".
- Measure voltage between Pin 20, Circuit 514 (Y/R) and Pin 7, Circuit 516 (Y/BK) at breakout box.
- Spin RH front wheel at approximately one revolution per second.
- Is voltage greater than 0.1 volt AC?
YES - Go to B4.
No - Check front brake anti-lock sensor mounting, air gap and front brake anti-lock sensor indicator mounting. Service as required. Restore vehicle. Retest system.
B4- CHECK RH FRONT BRAKE ABS SENSOR CIRCUIT RESISTANCE TO GROUND
- Check resistance between breakout box Pin 20, Circuit 514 (Y/R) and Pin 1, Circuit 570 (BK/W).
- Is resistance less than 5 ohms?
YES - Go to B5.
No - Go to B6.
B5- CHECK RH FRONT BRAKE ABS TO GROUND
- Disconnect RH front brake anti-lock sensor connector C1000.
- Check for resistance between each sensor connector pin (sensor side) and a known good ground.
- Is resistance 10K ohms or Less?
YES - Replace RH front brake anti-lock sensor. Restore vehicle. Retest system.
No - Service Circuit 514 (Y/R) or Circuit 516 (Y/BK) for a short to ground. Reconnect sensor connector. Restore vehicle. Retest system.
B6- CHECK ABS MODULE TO GROUND WIRE
- Measure resistance between breakout box Pin 1, Circuit 570 (BK/W) and a known good ground.
- Is resistance 5 ohms or less?
YES - Go to B7.
No - Service or replace Circuit 570 (BK/W). Restore vehicle. Retest system.
B7- CHECK RH FRONT WHEEL BEARING
- Check front wheel bearing end play (none allowed).
- Inspect front brake anti-lock sensor indicator visually for damaged teeth.
- Were loose or damaged parts found?
YES - Replace damaged/worn parts. Restore vehicle. Retest system.
No - Go to B8.
B8- TEST RH FRONT BRAKE ANTI-LOCK SENSOR INPUT
- Connect scan tool to DLC.
- Select PID RF_ WSPD.
- Drive vehicle and note PID.
- Is PID active?
YES - System operational. Clear DTC's. Restore vehicle. Retest system.
No - Replace ABS module. Restore vehicle. Retest system.
