H No ABS Lamp, No DTC

NOTE:
- Perform Inspection and Verification before performing this pinpoint test.
- To clear diagnostic trouble codes (DTC's), refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code, Erasing. Clearing Trouble Codes

Anti-Lock Brake Warning Indicator Does Not Come "ON" When Ignition Switch Is Turned To "RUN" and No DTC's Retrieved

H1- Check Circuit 31S (BK/R)
- Turn ignition switch to "OFF".
- Disconnect connectors C130 and C132 from anti-lock control module and connect breakout box and adapter to module and harness.
- Turn ignition switch to "RUN".
- Using a jumper wire, jumper breakout box pins 27 to 25.
- Did the anti-lock brake warning indicator illuminate?
YES
- Go to H5.
NO - Go to H2.

H2- Check Circuit 31S (BK/R) for an Open
- Turn ignition switch to "OFF".
- Disconnect C290 from instrument cluster.
- Measure the resistance between breakout box pin 27, circuit 31S (BK/BL) and the instrument panel connector pin C290-2, circuit 31S (BK/BL).
- Is resistance less than 5 ohms?
YES
- Go to H3.
NO - Service circuit 32S (BK/BL)/31S (BK/R). Restore vehicle. Clear DTC's and retest system.

H3- Check Anti-lock Brake Warning Indicator Lamp
- Turn ignition switch to "OFF".
- Access the anti-lock brake warning indicator bulb. Refer to Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators.
- Remove the bulb and check the bulb resistance.
- Is the bulb OK?
YES
- Go to H4.
NO - Replace bulb. Restore vehicle. Clear DTC's and retest system.

H4- Check Bulb Power Supply
- Turn ignition switch to "RUN".
- Disconnect C290 from the instrument cluster.
- With the bulb removed, measure the voltage between instrument cluster connector pin C290-5, circuit 14 (P) and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
YES
- Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators. Restore vehicle. Clear DTC's and retest system.
NO - Service circuit 14 (P) for open. Restore vehicle. Clear DTC's and retest system.

H5- Check Anti-Lock Brake Warning Indicator
- If connected, remove the breakout box and the anti-lock brake module adapter cable.
- Inspect, clean and reconnect connectors C130 and C132.
- Turn ignition switch to "RUN".
- Is the anti-lock brake warning indicator lamp "ON"?
YES
- Fault was intermittent. Restore vehicle and retest system.
NO - Replace relay box. Restore vehicle. Clear DTC's and retest system. If fault reappears during retest, replace the HCU.
