C1414

NOTE:
- Perform Inspection and Verification before performing this pinpoint test.
- To clear diagnostic trouble codes (DTC's), refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code, Erasing. Clearing Trouble Codes

C1414-1 Identify Vehicle System
- Determine if the vehicle is equipped with anti-lock brakes (ABS) only, or ABS with traction control.
-
YES
- Go to C1414-2.
NO - Go to C1414-4.

C1414-2 Check Circuit 91 (BK/BL)
- Turn ignition switch to "OFF".
- Disconnect connector C130 from anti-lock control module and connect breakout box and adapter to module and harness.
- Measure the resistance between pins 14 and 5.
- Is resistance 5 ohms or less?
YES
- Go to C1414-3.
NO - Service circuit 91 (BK/BL) for open circuit. Restore vehicle. Clear DTC's and retest system.

C1414-3 Clear DTC's
- Clear all DTC's using the scan tool. Clearing Trouble Codes
- Turn ignition switch to "RUN".
- Retrieve DTC's using the scan tool.
- Is the DTC still present?
YES
- Replace hydraulic control unit. Restore vehicle. Clear DTC's and retest system.
NO - The fault was intermittent. The ABS and traction control system (if equipped) should be considered operational at this time. No further action is required.

C1414-4 Check For Open on Pin C132-14
- - Disconnect connector C130 and C132 from anti-lock control module and connect breakout box and adapter to harness.
- Measure the resistance between breakout box pin 14 and a ground.
- Measure the resistance between breakout box pin 14 and and pin 25.
- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
YES
- Replace the hydraulic control unit. Restore vehicle. Clear DTC's and retest system.
NO - Service short to ground at pin C132-14. Restore vehicle. Clear DTC's and retest system. If DTC C1414 is retrieved on retest, replace HCU.
