Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures







NEITHER BELT MOVES FROM FRONT POSITION
Possible Source(s):
- Power to control module.
- Wiring circuit.
- Control module.
- Inertia fuel shutoff switch input grounded.
Action To Take:
- Go to pinpoint test A1. A1 - Check Fuses

ONE BELT WILL NOT MOVE FROM FRONT POSITION
Possible Source(s):
- Door latch switch input open.
- A-pillar limit switch input grounded.
- Motor or motor wiring.
- Passive restraint control module.
Action To Take:
- Go to pinpoint test B1. B1 - Check Door Latch Switch

ONE BELT WILL NOT MOVE FROM REAR POSITION
Possible Source(s):
- Door latch switch input grounded.
- B-pillar limit switch input grounded.
- Safety belt retractor motor wiring.
- Passive restraint control module.
Action To Take:
- Go to pinpoint test C1. C1 - Check Door Latch Switch

BELT CARRIER JUMPS OR CLICKS AT REAR POSITION WHILE IGNITION IS ON
Possible Source(s):
- B-pillar limit switch input open.
- Wiring and connectors between B-pillar limit switch and passive restraint control module.
Action To Take:
- Go to pinpoint test D1. D1 - Check Rear Shoulder Strap Switch

BELT CARRIER JUMPS OR CLICKS AT FRONT POSITION WHILE DOOR IS OPEN
Possible Source(s):
- A-pillar limit switch input open.
- Wiring and connectors between A-pillar limit switch and passive restraint control module.
Action To Take:
- Go to pinpoint test E1. E1 - Check Front Shoulder Strap Switch

BELT DOES NOT COMPLETE FULL TRAVEL
Possible Source:
- Shoulder strap carrier travel obstructed.
Action To Take:
- Check for damage or obstructions. Repair or replace components as necessary.

EMERGENCY RELEASE LEVER INOPERATIVE
Possible Source:
- Damaged emergency release lever.
Action To Take:
- Replace the front seat shoulder strap track.
