J2 Check Vehicle Speed Output
NOTE: Running the drive wheel off the ground may generate ABS wheel speed sensor DTCs and light the yellow ABS warning indicator. Cycling the ignition will cause the indicator to go out, but the DTCs will need to be cleared using the New Generation Star Tester 007-00500 or equivalent.
- Disconnect the wire harness connector from the Rotunda Anti-Lock Brake Adapter 007-00116 or equivalent.
- Remove the locking wedge from the wire harness connector and remove pin 12, circuit 679 (GY/BK) from the harness connector.
- Replace the locking wedge.
- Reconnect the wire harness connector to Rotunda Anti-Lock Brake Adapter 007-00116 or equivalent so the adapter is between the anti-lock brake control module and the wire harness connector.
- Place vehicle on hoist with wheels off the ground.
- Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
- Using a voltmeter such as Rotunda 73 Digital Multimeter 105-R0051 or equivalent, spin both front wheels at a rate of approximately 1 rev/sec and measure the AC voltage between breakout box pin 12 and pin 1.
- Is AC voltage greater than 0.6 volt?
YES -- Service circuit 679 (GY/BK for open circuit. Restore vehicle. Retest system.
NO -- Go to J3. J3 Check Vehicle Speed Output
