Equipment Setup
CAUTION: Vehicle ignition switch must be turned OFF before disconnecting the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) harness cable from the PCM.EQUIPMENT SETUP
Monitor Installation
1. Check for diagnostic trouble codes using the Super Star II tester 007-0041B (or equivalent). Codes must be recorded before disconnecting the PCM harness, otherwise they will be erased.
2. Remove lid from Monitor and ensure that POWER switch is OFF.
3. Disconnect PCM harness from PCM.
4. Inspect connector for loose or damaged pins, corrosion, or loose wires.
5. Attach PCM adapter cable 007-00057 (MTX) or T92C-6000-AH (4EAT) to PCM.

6. Attach Monitor connector to PCM adapter cable and tighten 10mm bolt on connector until snug. Do not overtighten. Attach vehicle harness to adapter cable.
7. Install overlay card number 36 (MTX) or 60 (4EAT) on Monitor's front panel.
8. Carefully position Monitor where it can be viewed. Stay away from moving parts, ignition wires and coil.
9. Check to see that all electrical devices are OFF - radio, lights, power windows, A/C, rear window defroster, etc.
10. Follow manufacturer directions for running tests.
Recorder Installation
1. The Monitor must be installed first in order to use the Recorder. Make sure that the correct overlay card is installed.
2. Place the Recorder in an appropriate location near the Monitor. Check to ensure that the Recorder power switch is OFF.
3. Install the Port "A" cable of the Recorder into Port "A" connector of the monitor. Install the Port "B" cable of the Recorder into Port "B" connector of the monitor. Make sure that the cables are properly oriented before insertion and are firmly seated.
4. Install the white overlay card around the eight playback buttons. This card will be used later to keep track of the signal names of the recorded channels.
