Power Steering Pressure Control Valve: Service and Repair

Auxiliary Actuator

Removal

1. Remove air inlet duct for access to actuator.
2. Disconnect VAPS electrical connector from actuator.
3. Disconnect power steering pressure switch (PSP switch)(3N824).
4. Remove two actuator-to-steering gear retaining bolts.
5. Lift power steering auxiliary actuator (3N803) gear assembly.

Installation






Note: Ensure that the two seals (between the power steering auxiliary actuator and power steering short rack (3L547) assembly) are in place when setting the actuator on the power steering short rack assembly.

1. Align actuator on power steering short rack.
2. Install two actuator-to-steering gear retaining bolts.
Tighten to 27-34 Nm (20-25 ft lbs.)
3. Reconnect power steering pressure switch and VAPS electrical connector.
4. Install the air inlet duct.
