EVAP 5 - Check Canister Purge Solenoid Stuck Closed

Canister Purge Solenoid:

^ Disconnect the Canister Purge (CANP) solenoid.

^ Apply 9 to 14 volts DC from a voltage source to the CANP solenoid.

^ While applying the voltage, apply 53 kPa (16 in Hg) of vacuum to the manifold side of the CANP solenoid with vacuum pump.

^ Does the solenoid open and pass air freely?

YES -- Go to EVAP 6. EVAP 6 - Check Canister Purge Solenoid Stuck Open

NO -- Replace canister purge solenoid.
