Check Power To VAPS Module And Retrieve DTC

A1 Module Check
- Turn ignition switch (11572) to OFF.
- Locate data link connector 14489 in engine compartment near brake booster. Use the Engine Compartment Views Component Locations






- Connect DVOM positive lead (R) to Circuit 606 and negative lead (BK) to vehicle ground.
- Position DVOM where it can be observed.
- Start engine.
- Observe voltage reading on DVOM.
Is voltage reading between 11-14 volts?
Yes
Go to A4. A4 - A11
No
Go to A2.

A2 Module Check (Voltage Zero)
- Repeat vehicle set-up as in A1.
- Observe voltage reading on DVOM.
Is voltage reading zero volts?
Yes
Go to A12. A12
No
Go to A3.

A3 Module Check (Voltage Above 14)
- Repeat vehicle set-up as in A1.
- Observe voltage reading on DVOM.
Is voltage reading above 14 volts?
Yes
Correct over-voltage condition.
Go to A4.
No
