Power Steering Pressure Control Valve: Service and Repair



Auxiliary Actuator

Removal


1. Remove air inlet duct for access to actuator.
2. Disconnect VAPS electrical connector from actuator.
3. Disconnect power steering pressure switch (PSP switch)(3N824).
4. Remove two actuator-to-steering gear retaining bolts.
5. Lift actuator from gear assembly.

Installation






Note: Ensure that the two seals (between the actuator and gear assembly) are in place when setting the actuator on the gear assembly.

1. Align actuator on steering gear.
2. Install two actuator-to-steering gear retaining bolts.
Tighten to 27-34 Nm (20-25 ft lbs.)
3. Reconnect pressure switch and VAPS electrical connector.
4. Install the air inlet duct.
