KC8 - Check AIRB and AIRD Solenoid For Vacuum Cycling

- Install vacuum pump to the Secondary Air Injection Bypass (AIRB) solenoid vacuum supply port and install a vacuum gauge to the AIRB output port.

- While cycling outputs On and Off (by depressing and releasing throttle), observe the vacuum gauge at the output.

NOTE: Maintain vacuum at source.

- Repeat for secondary Air Injection Diverter (AIRD) solenoid. Connect vacuum pump to the AIRD solenoid vacuum supply port and connect a vacuum gauge to the AIRD output port.

- Cycle output on and off.

- Does each solenoid cycle vacuum output on and off?

Yes -- Exit Output State test mode, reconnect vacuum hoses. Refer to Emission Control Systems/Testing and Inspection.

No -- Replace AIRB/AIRD solenoid assembly. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
