KE2 - DTC 0505 or Starts Only at Part Throttle

Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 0505 indicates that Self-Test has detected an IAC system malfunction. The DTC is output in KOER Self-Test when a minimum rpm cannot be reached as demanded by the PCM during the test. Possible Causes:
- IAC circuit open.
- IAC circuit shorted to PWR.
- VPWR circuit open.
- Contaminated IAC valve assembly.
- Damaged throttle body.
- Damaged PCM.

- Key Off.

- Disconnect IAC solenoid vehicle harness connector.

- Key On.

- Measure voltage between VPWR circuit at the IAC solenoid vehicle harness connector and battery ground.

- Is voltage greater than 10.5 volts?

YES -- GO to KE3. KE3 - Check IAC Solenoid Resistance

NO -- SERVICE open in VPWR to IAC solenoid. RECONNECT all components. Rerun quick test. Diagnostic Subroutines (DSR) - Extracting Codes
