HE40 - DTC 1403: Check For Reversed Pressure Hoses

Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 1403 indicates that continuous self-test has detected reversed DPFE sensor pressure hoses.

NOTE: If the fault is currently present, DTC 1408 will be output in Key On Engine Running (KOER) Self-Test.

Possible Cause:
- Reversed DPFE sensor pressure hoses.

- Key Off.

DPFE Pressure Hoses:

- Visually inspect hoses for proper connection between DPFE sensor and EGR orifice tube assembly.

- The hose connection marked "HI" on the DPFE sensor should connect to the exhaust side of the orifice tube and the connection marked "REF" connects to the intake manifold side of the orifice tube. The HI side hose has a larger inside diameter than the REF side hose.

- Are the DPFE sensor pressure hoses connected properly?

YES -- Fault may have been recently serviced without clearing DTCs. RECONNECT all components. Complete PCM reset to clear DTCs. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Rerun quick test. Diagnostic Subroutines (DSR) - Extracting Codes

NO -- SERVICE hoses as necessary (if hoses are replaced, USE only the service part and not a substitute). Complete PCM reset to clear DTCs. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Rerun quick test. Diagnostic Subroutines (DSR) - Extracting Codes
