DH5 - DTC 0123: Generate Opposite DTC 0122
Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 0123 indicates the TP sensor signal is greater than the Self-Test maximum value of 92.27% (4.60 volts).
NOTE: An Intermittent fault can cause a Continuous Memory DTC 0123. If Continuous Memory DTC 0123 is still present after DH5 through DH7, go to DH15.
Possible Causes:
- Damaged TP sensor.
- TP not seated properly (tightened down).
- TP SIG harness short to VREF or VPWR.
- VREF harness short to VPWR.
- Open SIG RTN harness circuit.
- Damaged PCM.
- Key Off.
- Disconnect TP sensor. Inspect for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion, loose wires, etc. Service as necessary.
- Key On, Engine Off.
- Access TP PID with the Scan Tool.
- Is the TP PID less than 3.43% (0.17 volts)?
YES -- TP SIG is either shorted to VREF in TP sensor or SIG RTN is open in the TP sensor or harness. Go to DH6. DH6 - Check VREF Circuit Voltage
NO -- TP SIG circuit is shorted to VPWR or VREF. Go to DH7. DH7 - Check TP Circuit For Shorts to VREF or VPWR
