Test 2, Ignition Coil Primary Circuit Switching

TFI ignition system ignition coil primary circuit switching test connections:

Procedure
1. With ignition ``Off,'' install a straight pin in ignition coil negative wire 1 inch from connector, Fig. 1.

Note: Do not allow straight pin to contact engine ground.

2. Connect a suitable 12 volt test light between ground and straight pin. While observing test light, crank engine.
3. If test light flashes, circuit is satisfactory. Proceed to test 3. Test 3, Ignition Coil Primary Resistance
4. If test light glows but does not flash, proceed to test 5. Test 5, Wiring Harness
5. If light does not glow or flash, proceed to test 7. Test 7, Primary Circuit
