Intake Manifold: Service and Repair



Removing and Installing Intake Manifold






1 Disconnect ground cable of battery
2 Remove trim panel (1) of intake manifold


NOTE: Fitted into rubber mounts (arrow) at manifold


DANGER: Risk of explosion from ignition, risk of poisoning from inhaling and swallowing fuel, as well as risk of injury from skin and eye contact with fuel.

- No fire, sparks. naked flames or smoking. Pour fuels only into suitable and appropriately marked containers, Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.



3 Remove fuel rail together with injectors
4 Remove electronic accelerator actuation
5 Unbolt bracket of secondary air injection switchover valve (Y32) at intake manifold


NOTE: Disconnect vacuum lines and electrical plug connection at switchover valve.


6 Disconnect socket at pressure sensor (B18) and at altitude correction sensor (B28)
7 Disconnect socket of O2 sensor upstream of catalytic, Oil level indicator sensor and AC compressor
8 Unclip engine wiring harness at fixture of intake manifold


CAUTION: Place to the side.


9 Disconnect vacuum line (a,b) at intake manifold
10 Unplug socket of crankshaft position sensor
11 Unplug socket of knock sensor
12 Disconnect circuit 50 at starter
13 Unscrew bolts (19/1) and take off intake manifold (19)
Refer to Intake Manifold below


NOTE: Installation: Inspect gasket (19/3), replace if necessary.


14 Install in the reverse order
15 Check idle speed, set
16 Read fault memory, erase
- Stored faults which can from cables being disconnected or from simulation during removal and installation or test work have to be processed and erased in the fault memories after completing the work, Refer to:
