Replacing Rear Crankshaft Radial Seal
1.1 Remove manual transmission
1.2 Remove automatic transmission
2 Remove clutch
- Manual transmission
3 Remove flywheel, two-mass flywheel or driven plate
4 Check for oil leaks
- If leaks exist at end cover, Remove end cover
- If the cause of the oil leak cannot be clearly determined, Check rear of engine for external oil leak, and determine cause.
5 Use a screwdriver to prise out radial seal (21)
CAUTION: Do not damage crankshaft and mounting hole for radial seal ring, use a clean cloth as a base.
NOTE:
- Installation: For all vulcanized radial seal rings in repair case: install new radial seal ring (21) into new cover by pressing in at rear.
- Installation: Install rear crankshaft radial seal
6 Install in reverse order.
NOTE:
- Before installing transmission, inspect for oil leaks
- Check rear of engine for external oil leak, determine.
