Transmission Slips During 2-3 Shift, or Slips Initially and then Engages Harshly

Cause/remedy:

1. All vehicles with gasoline engines
Check vacuum line from the intake pipe of the engine to the vacuum unit on the transmission for free passage.

Vehicles with diesel engine.
Check vacuum control (value measured at the vacuum unit1 approx. 0.4 bar at closed throttle position, 0 bar at wide open throttle).

2. Remove shift valve body and check whether the temperature restrictor (119) is installed.

3. Check Teflon ring of front cover, repair clutch K1 according to findings.
