Oil Pan: Service and Repair
DISASSEMBLY1. Drain engine oil.
Removal And Installation Of Oil Pan:
2. Unplug cable (351 a) at the oil level pickup.
3. Detach clips (1a) for fan shroud and position shroud over fan.
4. Unbolt exhaust pipes at exhaust manifold.
5. Unscrew pipe clip (53) at the front exhaust bracket to the transmission.
6. Remove two bolts at the transmission - engine joint (M1O, arrows)
7. Remove both bottom bolts (22) for engine mounting fixture.
8. Raise engine with the engine hoist.
9. Remove remaining bolts for attaching oil pan, remove oil pan.
10. Carefully clean mating face at oil pan and on crankcase.
ASSEMBLY
1. Install oil pan with new gasket. Pay attention to bolt lengths.
^ Tightening torques:
M6: 10 Nm (7.5 lb ft)
M8: 25 Nm (18.5 lb ft)
2. Lower engine and attach engine mounts.
^ Tightening torque: 45 Nm (33 lb ft)
3. Replace two bolts at transmission.
^ Tightening torque: 45 Nm (33 lb ft)
4. Replace front exhaust bracket and pipe clip.
^ Tightening torque: 25 Nm (18.5 lb ft)
5. Bolt exhaust pipes to exhaust manifold.
6. Replace fan shroud.
7. Plug in oil level sensor cable.
8. Add engine oil and adjust to correct level.
9. Check for leaks with engine running.
