Removal

SUSPENSION: FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER: REMOVAL

HINT
* Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
* The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

2. REMOVE FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT LH (for AWD) Removal

3. DISCONNECT SPEED SENSOR CONNECTOR (for 2WD) Removal

4. DISCONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH Removal

5. REMOVE FRONT DISC Removal

6. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE DUST COVER LH Removal

7. DISCONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE (for AWD) Removal

8. REMOVE FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH (for AWD) Removal

9. DISCONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH Removal

10. DISCONNECT FRONT NO. 1 SUSPENSION UPPER ARM ASSEMBLY LH (for AWD) Removal

11. DISCONNECT FRONT NO. 2 SUSPENSION UPPER ARM ASSEMBLY LH (for AWD) Removal

12. REMOVE STEERING KNUCKLE LH (for AWD) Removal

13. DISCONNECT FRONT NO. 1 SUSPENSION LOWER ARM ASSEMBLY LH (for 2WD) Removal

14. DISCONNECT FRONT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for 2WD) Removal

15. DISCONNECT FRONT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for AWD)

(a) Remove the nut, and then remove the bracket of the front height control sensor LH.

16. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH (for 2WD) Removal

17. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH (for AWD) Removal

18. DISCONNECT FRONT NO. 2 SUSPENSION LOWER ARM ASSEMBLY LH (for 2WD) Removal

19. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

20. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal

21. REMOVE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH (for 2WD)

(a) Loosen the lock nut of the front shock absorber.

NOTICE:
* Do not remove the lock nut.
* Loosen the lock nut only when disassembling the front shock absorber with coil spring.

(b) Remove the 3 nuts from the upper side of the front suspension support.

(c) Slowly lower the jack. Remove the bolt from the lower side to remove the front shock absorber with coil spring.

22. REMOVE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH (for AWD)

(a) Loosen the lock nut of the front shock absorber.

NOTICE:
* Do not remove the lock nut.
* Loosen the lock nut only when disassembling the front shock absorber with coil spring.

(b) Remove the nut and upper front shock absorber bracket plate, and disconnect the lower front shock absorber bracket sub-assembly LH from the front No. 1 suspension lower arm LH.

(d) Remove the 3 nuts from the upper side of the front suspension support.

NOTICE:
Hold the front shock absorber assembly LH to prevent it from dropping.

23. REMOVE LOWER FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for AWD)

(a) Remove the bolt and lower front shock absorber bracket sub-assembly LH.
