INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
First perform the communication function inspections in HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING to confirm that there are no CAN communication malfunctions before troubleshooting this symptom.
PROCEDURE
1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (LUGGAGE ROOM LIGHT)
(a) Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test.

2. CONFIRM LIGHT POSITION
(a) Check the malfunctioning luggage room light.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the S63 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the S34 light connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT (OPERATION)
(a) Temporarily replace the No. 1 luggage compartment light with a new or normally functioning one Removal.
(b) Check the No. 1 luggage compartment light operation.
OK:
No. 1 luggage compartment light operation is normal.
NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)
OK -- REPLACE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT Removal
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 COURTESY LIGHT - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the S62 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the S26 light connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK NO. 2 COURTESY LIGHT (OPERATION)
(a) Temporarily replace the No. 2 courtesy light with a new or normally functioning one Removal.
(b) Check the No. 2 courtesy light operation.
OK:
No. 2 courtesy light operation is normal.

OK -- Continue to next step.
9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE DOOR CLOSER - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the S63 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the S36 closer connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)
10. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LUGGAGE DOOR COURTESY SWITCH)
(a) Using the Techstream, read the Data List.

11. INSPECT LUGGAGE DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY

OK -- Continue to next step.
12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR - LUGGAGE DOOR CLOSER)
(a) Disconnect the S43 motor connector.
(b) Disconnect the S36 closer connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
13. CHECK LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR ASSEMBLY (OPERATION)
(a) Temporarily replace the luggage closer motor with a new or normally functioning one.
(b) Check the luggage room light operation.
OK:
Luggage room light operation is normal.
