1UR-FSE INTAKE: INTAKE MANIFOLD: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD

(a) Install 2 new gaskets to the intake manifold.

(b) Temporarily install the intake manifold with the 2 nuts and 8 bolts. Then tighten the 2 nuts and 8 bolts uniformly in the order shown in the illustration.

Torque : 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)





(c) Connect the PCV hose to the intake manifold.





NOTICE:
Make sure that the clip is facing as shown in the illustration.

2. INSTALL PURGE VSV





(a) Install the purge VSV with the bolt.

Torque : 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)

(b) Connect the fuel vapor feed hose to the intake manifold.

(c) Connect the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose to the purge VSV.

3. INSTALL WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the water by-pass pipe to the intake manifold with the 2 bolts.





(b) Connect the heater water inlet hose, heater water outlet hose, water inlet hose, and No. 3 water by-pass hose to the water by-pass pipe with the 4 clamps.

NOTICE:
Make sure that the No. 3 water by-pass hose clamp is facing as shown in the illustration.

4. INSTALL INJECTOR DRIVER





(a) Install the injector driver to the intake manifold by installing the 2 bolts and 2 nuts in the order shown in the illustration.

Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

(b) Connect the 4 wire harness connectors to the injector driver. Then move the lock lever as shown in the illustration to lock the connectors.

(c) Connect the 2 clamps to the injector driver.

5. CONNECT ENGINE WIRE

(a) for 2WD:

(1) Connect the engine wire harness connectors.

HINT
To connect the injector driver connectors, move the lock lever to lock the connector.

(2) Connect the engine wire harness to the +B terminal of the generator assembly with the nut.

Torque : 12 Nm (122 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf)

(3) Connect the 6 engine wire harness clamps.

(4) Connect the engine wire to the fusible link block assembly with the nut.

Torque : 13 Nm (127 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf)

(5) Connect the engine wire harness ground with the bolt.

Torque : 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)

(6) Install the 4 engine wire harness clamp brackets with the 4 bolts.

Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

(7) Connect the engine wire harness with the 4 nuts.

Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)





(b) for AWD:

(1) Connect the engine wire harness connectors.

HINT
To connect the injector driver connectors, move the lock lever to lock the connector.

(2) Connect the engine wire harness to the +B terminal of the generator assembly with the nut.

Torque : 12 Nm (122 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf)

(3) Connect the 6 engine wire harness clamps.

(4) Connect the engine wire to the fusible link block assembly with the nut.

Torque : 13 Nm (127 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf)

(5) Connect the engine wire harness ground with the bolt.

Torque : 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)

(6) Install the 3 engine wire harness clamp brackets with the 3 bolts.

Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

(7) Connect the engine wire harness with the 4 nuts.

Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)





(8) Connect the wire harness bracket with the bolt.





Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

Connect the cooler compressor connector.

Install the clamp bracket with the bolt.





Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

(11) Connect the 2 clamps and 3 ground wires with the 3 bolts.

Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

(12) Connect the 2 camshaft timing control motor connectors (for Bank 1).

(13) Connect the oil pressure sensor connector.

(14) Connect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.

(15) Connect the clamp and install the 2 clamp brackets with the 2 bolts.





Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

(16) Connect the No. 8 engine wire connector.

(17) Connect the fuel pump connector (for high pressure).

(18) Connect the 2 VVT sensor connectors.

(19) Connect the 4 ignition coil connectors.

(20) Connect the camshaft timing control valve connector.

6. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Install the air cleaner case with the 2 nuts and clip.





Torque : 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf)

(b) Install the air cleaner filter element to the air cleaner case.

(c) Install the air cleaner cap with the 2 clamps.





(d) Connect the MAF meter connector.

7. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Install the air cleaner case with the 2 nuts and clip.





Torque : 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf)

(b) Install the air cleaner filter element to the air cleaner case.

(c) Install the air cleaner cap with the 2 clamps.





(d) Connect the MAF meter connector.

10. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET Installation

11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

12. ADD ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair

13. INSPECT FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAK Component Tests and General Diagnostics

14. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH Installation

15. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET COVER Installation

16. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

17. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER Installation

18. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER PROTECTOR LOWER Installation

19. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER Service and Repair

20. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH Installation
