Removal
DRIVE SHAFT / PROPELLER SHAFT: PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 2GR-FSE): REMOVAL
1. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER LH
(a) Remove the 12 nuts and front floor cover LH.
2. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH
HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
3. REMOVE NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER
(a) Remove the 4 clips, screw and No. 1 floor under cover.
4. REMOVE NO. 2 FLOOR UNDER COVER
HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the No. 1 floor under cover.
5. REMOVE REAR BODY SUPPORT BRACKET LH
(a) Remove the 6 bolts and rear body support bracket LH.

6. REMOVE REAR BODY SUPPORT BRACKET RH
HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
7. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE
(a) Remove the 6 bolts and front center floor brace.
8. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY Removal
9. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR
(a) Remove the 4 nuts and front No. 1 floor heat insulator.
10. REMOVE OUTSIDE AIR GUIDE PLATE RH
(a) Remove the 4 nuts and outside air guide plate RH.
11. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY
(a) Using SST, loosen the adjusting nut until it can be turned by hand.

NOTICE:
Make sure to turn SST in the direction shown in the illustration.
HINT
Use 2 of the same type SST.
(b) Put matchmarks on the transmission companion flange, flexible coupling and propeller intermediate shaft.

(c) Remove the 3 bolts, 3 washers and 3 nuts.
NOTICE:
Do not separate the propeller intermediate shaft and flexible coupling.
(d) Put matchmarks on the differential companion flange, flexible coupling and propeller shaft assembly.

(e) Remove the 3 bolts, 3 washers and 3 nuts.
NOTICE:
Do not separate the propeller shaft assembly and flexible coupling.
(f) Remove the 2 center support bearing set bolts and 2 center support bearing washers.

HINT
Some vehicles are not equipped with center support bearing washers.
(g) Push the propeller shaft with center bearing assembly straight ahead to compress and pull out the propeller shaft with center bearing assembly from the differential centering pin.
NOTICE:
Press the propeller shaft straight ahead to keep the transmission and intermediate shaft aligned straight.
HINT
If it is difficult to separate the flange from the flexible coupling, pry it using a screwdriver.
(h) Pull the propeller shaft outward from the rear of the vehicle.
NOTICE:
Do not separate the intermediate shaft and propeller shaft assembly.
