DOOR / HATCH: LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR SUPPORT: REMOVAL
HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
1. SET LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR
(a) Open the luggage compartment door.
(b) Pull the emergency cable at the luggage compartment door hinge assembly LH and RH to release the closer lock.
(c) Move the luggage compartment door hinge assembly LH and RH to the position shown in the illustration by pulling on the luggage compartment door mounting part of the hinge.
NOTICE:
* Perform this operation using 2 persons.
* Synchronize the movement of the left and right sides of the luggage compartment door hinge when moving it.
* A large amount of force is required to make the luggage link start moving down.
* Do not pull on the No. 1 or No. 2 package tray trim hinges because they have already been adjusted. Pulling on them will make them go out of adjustment.
2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR SUPPORT ASSEMBLY
NOTICE:
* Avoid touching the piston rod as much as possible to prevent foreign matter from attaching to it. Be sure to hold the cylinders while servicing.
* Do not wear cotton gloves or other similar materials when handling the rod. Fibers may attach to the rod and result in gas leaks.
* In order to prevent the piston rod from deforming, do not apply any horizontal load to the cylinders.
(a) Using a screwdriver wrapped with protective tape, remove the luggage compartment door support assembly by releasing the 2 stop rings.
