Installation





PROPELLER SHAFT: FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4WD): INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY

(a) Clean the constant velocity universal joint washers and the mating surfaces of the front propeller shaft, transfer and differential.

(b) Align the matchmarks on the transfer companion flange and the front propeller shaft.

(c) Temporarily tighten the front propeller shaft with the 6 bolts and 2 constant velocity universal joint washers.

NOTICE:
* Bolt A: Apply engine oil.
* Bolt B: Clean off oil and other foreign matter completely.

(d) Align the matchmarks on the differential companion flange and the front propeller shaft.

(e) Temporarily tighten the front propeller shaft with the 6 bolts and 2 constant velocity universal joint washers.

NOTICE:
* Bolt A: Apply engine oil.
* Bolt B: Clean off oil and other foreign matter completely.

(f) Using a screwdriver or equivalent, hold the transfer companion flange.





(g) Using a socket hexagon wrench 6 mm, fully tighten the front propeller shaft with the 6 bolts.

Torque : 25 Nm (255 kgf-cm, 18 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the front propeller shaft.

(h) Using a screwdriver or equivalent, hold the transfer companion flange.





(i) Using a socket hexagon wrench 6 mm, fully tighten the front propeller shaft with the 6 bolts.

Torque : 25 Nm (255 kgf-cm, 18 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the front propeller shaft.

2. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

* for 2GR-FSE: Installation

* for 4GR-FSE: Installation

3. CHECK FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAKS
