Removal





BRAKE: BRAKE BOOSTER: REMOVAL

NOTICE:
Release the vacuum from the booster by depressing the brake pedal several times. Then remove the brake master cylinder sub-assembly from the brake booster assembly.

1. PRECAUTION

CAUTION:
Be sure to read the "PRECAUTION" thoroughly before servicing. Service Precautions

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.

3. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal

4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal

5. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH Removal

6. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR LH Removal

7. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR RH Removal

8. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING LH

9. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING RH Removal

10. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP Removal

11. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH Removal

12. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH Removal

13. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

14. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

15. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

NOTICE:
If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface, wash off or remove the brake fluid completely.

16. REMOVE NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK Removal

17. SEPARATE CLUTCH RESERVOIR HOSE (for Manual Transmission) Removal

18. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

19. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET Removal

20. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (w/ Illumination) Removal

21. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (w/o Illumination) Removal

22. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH Removal

23. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH Removal

24. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

25. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

26. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Removal

27. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING

(a) Remove the brake pedal return spring.

28. SEPARATE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS

(a) Remove the clip and the push rod pin, then separate the push rod clevis.





29. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a union nut wrench (10 mm), disconnect the No. 3 front brake tube from the front flexible hose LH.





(b) Disengage the grommet and remove the No. 3 front brake tube.

(c) Remove the 4 nuts and brake booster assembly.





NOTICE:
Do not damage the brake lines.

(d) Remove the brake booster gasket from the brake booster assembly.

30. REMOVE BRAKE VACUUM CHECK VALVE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the check valve assembly and grommet.

31. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS

(a) Loosen the lock nut and remove the push rod clevis.
