SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

CAUTION:
* Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions.
* Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seat frame and adjuster may injure your hands.
* If the side airbag was deployed, replace the front seat side airbag assembly, front seat frame assembly with adjuster, separate type front seatback cover and separate type front seatback pad with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage Disassembly.
HINT
Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.

1. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:
After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work Service Precautions.

2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT Removal

3. REMOVE FRONT OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER Removal

4. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER Removal

5. REMOVE REAR OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER Removal

6. REMOVE REAR INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER Removal

7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY Removal

8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY Disassembly

9. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 2 hooks and remove the 2 rubber bands of the front seatback board sub-assembly from the front seat frame.





(b) Disengage the fastener.





(c) Disengage the 4 clamps to disconnect the front seat side airbag assembly wire harness.





(d) Disconnect the connector.





10. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY Disassembly

11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT LH Disassembly

12. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT RH Disassembly

13. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD Disassembly

14. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK COVER Disassembly

15. REMOVE FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 2 clamps.





(b) Remove the 2 nuts and the front seat side airbag assembly.

CAUTION:
* The nuts must not be reused.
* Make sure that the front seat frame assembly with adjuster is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.
