Removal





PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE PEDAL: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

HINT
Refer to the procedure up to Remove Front Seat Assembly Removal.

2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH

HINT
Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.

3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Removal

4. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Removal

5. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH Removal

6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH Removal

7. REMOVE SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL LH Removal

8. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH Removal

9. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

10. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH Removal

11. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH Removal

12. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH Removal

13. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH RH

14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH Removal

15. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

16. REMOVE SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL RH Removal

17. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Removal

18. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL RH Removal

19. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

20. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL ASSEMBLY WITH FRONT ASH RECEPTACLE Removal

21. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX POCKET Removal

22. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET Removal

23. REMOVE CONSOLE REAR END PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

24. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY Removal

25. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR FRONT CARPET ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 11 clamps, 4 claws, 4 clips and 5 fasteners.





(b) Turn back the front floor front carpet assembly until the whole of the cross member floor No. 4 reinforcement sub-assembly can be seen.

26. REMOVE FLOOR CARPET BRACKET LH

(a) Remove the 3 clips and the floor carpet bracket LH.





27. REMOVE FLOOR CARPET BRACKET RH

Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.

28. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX DUCT

(a) Remove the bolt and the No. 2 console box duct.





29. REMOVE NO. 3 CONSOLE BOX DUCT

(a) Remove the bolt and the No. 3 console box duct.





30. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the 3 connectors.





(b) Remove the 4 bolts and the floor shift lever assembly.

HINT
It is not necessary to disconnect the transmission control cable from the floor shift lever assembly.

31. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT

(a) Remove the clip and the No. 1 console box duct.





32. REMOVE YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR

(a) Disengage the clamp and disconnect the connector.





(b) Remove the 2 bolts and the yaw rate and acceleration sensor.

33. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY Removal

34. DISCONNECT NO. 4 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a wrench, hold the lock nut of the No. 1 parking brake cable and loosen the turnbuckle of the No. 4 parking brake cable.





(b) Disconnect the No. 4 parking brake cable assembly from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

35. REMOVE NO. 2 DASH PANEL INSULATOR PAD

(a) Remove the No. 2 dash panel insulator pad.





36. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY

(a) Using needle-nose pliers, remove the clip from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.





(b) Remove the bolt, nut, and the No. 1 parking brake cable clamp.





(c) Separate the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the body.

(d) Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.





(e) Remove the bolt, 2 nuts, and the parking brake pedal assembly with the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the body.
