DESCRIPTION

When the power switch is on (IG), the airbag sensor assembly transmits front seat inner belt LH status signals to the combination meter assembly via CAN. If the driver seat belt is not fastened, the combination meter assembly blinks the seat belt warning light. If the driver seat belt is fastened, the seat belt warning light goes off.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
The seat belt warning system uses the CAN communication system. First, confirm that there is no malfunction in the CAN communication system. Refer to the How to Proceed with Troubleshooting procedure How To Proceed With Troubleshooting.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (AIRBAG SYSTEM)

(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(b) Recheck for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

B -- GO TO AIRBAG SYSTEM Airbag System
A -- Continue to next step.

2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Data List.

(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
