DESCRIPTION
When the auxiliary battery is replaced or the cable is disconnected from its negative (-) battery terminal, the ISC learning value will be initialized and symptoms as a noise from the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly may occur until ISC learning is performed.
Therefore, perform ISC learning when the auxiliary battery is replaced or the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) terminal of the auxiliary battery.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ISC LEARNING)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Power train / Engine and ECT / Data List / ISC Learning.
(e) Read the display on the Techstream.

2. INITIALIZATION (ISC LEARNING)
(a) Enter inspection mode (maintenance mode) Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
(b) Enter the following menus: Power train / Hybrid Control / Data List / Engine Coolant Temp.
(c) Turn the power switch on (READY) and warm up the engine coolant temp displayed in the Data List becomes 158°F (70°C) or more.
(d) Turn the power switch off and then on (READY) again.
(e) Check that the engine coolant temperature displayed in the Data List is 158°F (70°C) or more.
(f) With park (P) selected, lightly depress the accelerator pedal to start the engine.
(g) Wait until the engine stops.
HINT
The engine normally stops within 1 minute. However, when the HV battery SOC is low, the engine may remain running for approximately 3 minutes.
(h) Enter the following menus: Power train / Engine and ECT / Data List / ISC Learning.
(i) Read the display on the Techstream.
