Removal





DOOR / HATCH: HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal

2. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal

3. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR LH Removal

4. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE PROTECTOR Removal

5. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY Removal

6. REMOVE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System) Removal

7. REMOVE LOW PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY Removal

8. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER

(a) Remove the 3 screws.





(b) Disengage the clamp and remove the hood lock control cable cover.

9. REMOVE HOOD LOCK NUT CAP

(a) Using a screwdriver wrapped with protective tape, remove the hood lock nut cap as shown in the illustration.

10. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and hood lock nut.





(b) Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly.





(c) Disconnect the connector and remove the hood lock assembly.

11. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH Removal

12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH Removal

13. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH Removal

14. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

15. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 3 claws.





(b) Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly and remove the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

16. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Tie a string to the end of the hood lock control cable assembly as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:
Use a length of string long enough to pass through the engine compartment.

(b) Disengage the clamp and remove the hood lock control cable assembly as shown in the illustration.

HINT
After removing the hood lock control cable assembly, remove the string and leave it in the engine compartment.
