B1247 - Tire Pressure Monitor Receiver Communication Stop

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored if the communication between the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver, and gateway ECU stops for more than 10 seconds.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

HINT
If DTC B1266 or B1267 (+B or GND short malfunction of communication bus) is stored at the same time as DTC B1247, perform troubleshooting for DTC B1266 or B1267 first.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the J49 connector.





(b) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMMUNICATION LINE)

(a) Disconnect the J34 connector.





(b) Disconnect the J58 connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. REPLACE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER

(a) Replace the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT

(a) Clear the DTC Multiplex Communication System.

(b) Recheck for DTCs.

OK:

DTC B1247 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE GATEWAY ECU Removal

OK -- END (TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER WAS DEFECTIVE)
