Removal

2GR-FSE STARTING: STARTER: REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal

3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal

4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH Removal

5. REMOVE V-BANK COVER Removal

6. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RELAY BLOCK





Remove the bolt, nut and disconnect the No. 2 relay block.

7. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH Removal

8. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER PANEL ASSEMBLY Removal

9. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH Removal

10. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH Removal

11. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX PLATE Removal

12. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) Removal

13. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX (for 4WD) Removal

14. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (for 4WD)

(a) Remove the front seat LH Removal.

15. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 2WD)

16. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 4WD)

17. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 2WD) Removal

18. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH (for 2WD) Removal

19. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH (for 2WD) Removal

20. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the front exhaust pipe Removal.

21. REMOVE FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)

22. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH





(a) Remove the 2 bolts and ground cable.

(b) Remove the bolt and engine wire bracket.





Disconnect the sensor connector.





Remove the 6 nuts, manifold and gasket.

23. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY





Disconnect the starter connector.

(a) Detach the terminal cap.

(b) Remove the nut and disconnect the starter cable.

(c) Remove the 2 bolts and starter.
