INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (FUEL METER OPERATION)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the tester ON.

(d) Enter following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.

(e) Check the operation by referring to the table below.

Combination Meter:





OK:

Needle indication is normal.

NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (FUEL INPUT)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the tester ON.

(d) Enter following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.

(e) Check the values by referring to the table below.

Combination Meter:





OK:

Fuel value signal displayed on the tester is almost the same as needle indication.

NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY (MAIN)

(a) Disconnect the U9 fuel sender gauge connector.

(b) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.





Standard voltage:





(c) Remove the fuel sender gauge assembly.

(d) Connect the fuel sender gauge connector.

(e) Check that the float position is between E and F.





(f) Measure the resistance between the terminals 2 and 3 of connector of the connector.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY (SUB)

(a) Disconnect the V11 fuel sender gauge connector.

(b) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.





Standard voltage:





(c) Remove the fuel sender gauge assembly.

(d) Connect the fuel sender gauge connector.

(e) Check that the float position is between E and F.





(f) Measure the resistance between the terminals 2 and 3 of connector of the connector.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN COMBINATION METER AND FUEL SENDER GAUGE (MAIN))

(a) Disconnect the U9 fuel sender gauge connector.





(b) Disconnect the K31 meter connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN FUEL SENDER GAUGE (SUB) AND FUEL SENDER GAUGE (MAIN))

(a) Disconnect the U9 fuel sender gauge connector.





(b) Disconnect the V11 fuel sender gauge connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN COMBINATION METER AND FUEL SENDER GAUGE (SUB))

(a) Disconnect the V11 fuel sender gauge connector.





(b) Disconnect the K31 meter connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER
