Removal





AIR CONDITIONING: AIR CONDITIONING UNIT: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal

2. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal

3. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR TO FRONT SIDE SEAL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal

4. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR TO FRONT SIDE SEAL SUB-ASSEMBLY RH Removal

5. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH Removal

6. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH Removal

7. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH Removal

8. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH Removal

9. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

10. REMOVE FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY Removal

11. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM Service and Repair

12. DISCONNECT SUCTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the bolt and slide the hook connector.

(b) Disconnect the suction pipe.

(c) Remove the O-ring from the suction pipe.

NOTICE:
Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

13. DISCONNECT LIQUID TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY A

(a) Disconnect the liquid tube.

(b) Remove the O-ring from the liquid tube.

NOTICE:
Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

14. DISCONNECT HEATER WATER OUTLET HOSE A

(a) Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the heater water outlet hose.





15. DISCONNECT HEATER WATER HOSE INLET A

HINT
Disconnection of the heater water outlet hose is the same as for the heater water inlet hose.

16. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

17. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly Removal.

18. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY

For 2GR-FSE Removal

For 1UZ-FSE Removal

19. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX DUCT

(a) Remove the 2 clips and console box duct.





20. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT

(a) Remove the console box duct.





21. REMOVE DEFROSTER LOWER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Release the 4 claws and remove the nozzle.





22. DISCONNECT TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY





(a) Disconnect the clamp.

(b) Remove the screw and ECU.

23. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT ASSEMBLY

(a) Detach the 27 clamps and disconnect the connectors. Then disconnect the wire harness.

(b) Remove the 3 nuts, 2 bolts and disconnect the 2 junction blocks.





(c) Remove the cap and bolt.

(d) Remove the 6 bolts and 2 screws.





(e) Using a T40 "torx" socket, remove the 5 "torx" bolts.

HINT
The "torx" bolts on the passenger side can be removed with the collar for adjustment.

(f) Using a 12 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 2 collars and instrument panel reinforcement.





24. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the nut and A/C unit.





25. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR DUCT

(a) Remove the screw and duct.





26. REMOVE FOOT DUCT LOWER

(a) Detach the 2 claws and remove the foot duct.





27. REMOVE FOOT DUCT UPPER

(a) Detach the 2 claws and remove the foot duct.





28. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY Removal

29. REMOVE BLOWER ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the connector.





(b) Remove the screw.

(c) Detach the 2 claws and remove the blower.
