SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

In some cases, wireless control functions are normal but the hazard warning light and wireless door lock buzzer are not. Malfunctions may be present in the cowl side junction block ECU's hazard warning light and wireless door lock buzzer signal outputs.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR LOCK POSITION SWITCH)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / (desired system) / DATA LIST.

(e) Read the DATA LIST according to the display on the Techstream.

OK:

The Techstream should display as shown in the table according to door lock operation.

E -- GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (Proceed to Only Rear Door RH LOCK / UNLOCK Functions do not Operate)

D -- GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (Proceed to Only Rear Door LH LOCK / UNLOCK Functions do not Operate)

C -- GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (Proceed to Only Passenger Door LOCK / UNLOCK Functions do not Operate)

B -- GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (Proceed to Only Driver Door LOCK / UNLOCK Functions do not Operate)
A -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK

(a) Check that the wireless door lock functions operate with the transmitter.

C -- GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

B -- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST (WIRELESS DOOR LOCK BUZZER)
A -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS

(a) Check that the hazard warning lights flash continuously when hazard warning switch is pressed.

OK:

Hazard warning lights flash continuously.

NG -- GO TO LIGHTING SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST (HAZARD WARNING LIGHT)

(a) Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the hazard warning lights flash.

OK:

Hazard warning lights flash.

NG -- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU - TURN SIGNAL FLASHER RELAY)

OK -- REPLACE COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU - TURN SIGNAL FLASHER RELAY)





(a) Disconnect the K67 ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the K25 relay connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

6. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST (WIRELESS DOOR LOCK BUZZER)

(a) Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the wireless door lock buzzer sounds.

OK:

Wireless door lock buzzer sounds.

NG -- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (WIRELESS DOOR LOCK BUZZER - MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND)

OK -- REPLACE COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

7. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (WIRELESS DOOR LOCK BUZZER - MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the A18 buzzer connector.

(b) Disconnect the A39 ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

8. REPLACE WIRELESS DOOR LOCK BUZZER

(a) After replacing the wireless door lock buzzer with a normal one, check that the wireless door lock buzzer sounds by using the transmitter LOCK / UNLOCK switch.

OK:

Wireless door lock buzzer sounds.

NG -- REPLACE COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

OK -- END
