BRAKE: BRAKE BOOSTER (for 2GR-FSE): REMOVAL

NOTICE:
Release the vacuum from the booster by depressing the brake pedal several times. Then remove the brake master cylinder sub-assembly from the brake booster assembly.

1. PRECAUTION

CAUTION:
Be sure to read the "PRECAUTION" thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions.

CAUTION:
Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

3. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal

4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal

5. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM COVER SIDE Removal

6. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR TO FRONT SIDE SEAL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal

7. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR TO FRONT SIDE SEAL SUB-ASSEMBLY RH Removal

8. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH Removal

9. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH Removal

10. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH Removal

11. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH Removal

12. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

13. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

NOTICE:
Wash brake fluid off immediately if it adheres to any painted surface.

14. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM RELAY NO.3 BLOCK Removal

15. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER WITH PLATE CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

16. REMOVE ABS AND TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY Removal

17. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH FRONT Removal

18. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

19. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH Removal

20. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Removal

21. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH Removal

22. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH Removal

23. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER NO.1 SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

24. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD NO.1 SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

25. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL AIR BAG ASSEMBLY NO.1 LOWER Removal

26. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING

(a) Remove the brake pedal return spring.

27. SEPARATE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS

(a) Remove the clip and the push rod pin, then separate the push rod clevis.

28. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the clip and disconnect the vacuum hose.





(b) Remove the 4 nuts and brake booster assembly.





NOTICE:
Do not damage the brake tubes.

29. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER GASKET

30. REMOVE BRAKE VACUUM CHECK VALVE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the check valve assembly and grommet.

31. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS

(a) Loosen the lock nut and remove the push rod clevis.
