Installation

SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the engine switch is off.

(b) Check that the battery negative (-) cable is disconnected.

CAUTION:
Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment.

(c) Connect the front passenger side knee airbag connector.

NOTICE:
When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

(d) Engage the 2 claws and 2 pins.





HINT
Make sure that the pins are securely installed in the front passenger side knee airbag assembly.

(e) Install the front passenger side knee airbag assembly with the 3 bolts.





Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

2. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

3. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH Installation

4. INSTALL SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL RH Installation

5. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH Installation

6. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH Installation

7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

8. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

(a) Perform initialization Repair Instruction - Initialization.

HINT
Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.

9. INSPECT FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Front Passenger Side Knee Airbag Assembly

10. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT

(a) Inspect the SRS warning light Diagnosis System.
