Removal

SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

CAUTION:
Be sure to read "PRECAUTION" thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment.

3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Removal

4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH Removal

5. REMOVE SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL LH Removal

6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH Removal

7. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

8. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 4 bolts.





(b) Disconnect the driver side knee airbag connector.

NOTICE:
When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

(c) Disengage the 2 hooks and separate the driver side knee airbag assembly.





(d) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the DLC3, and remove the driver side knee airbag assembly.
