DESCRIPTION
In this circuit, the meter CPU receives engine speed signals from the power management control ECU using the CAN communication system. The meter CPU displays the engine speed calculated based on the data received from the power management control ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT
* Select the SPORT mode by using the combination switch assembly, the hybrid system indicator changes to the tachometer. Before starting following inspection, confirm that the SPORT mode is selected.
* Before starting following inspection, check if the hybrid control system outputs DTCs Hybrid Control System.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
(a) Check if a CAN communication DTC is output Diagnosis System.

2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (TACHOMETER OPERATION)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
(e) Check the operation by referring to the table below.
Combination Meter
OK:
Tachometer indication is normal.
NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ENGINE RPM)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
(e) Check the values by referring to the table below.
Combination Meter
NOTICE:
Enter the inspection mode Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
OK:
Engine speed displayed on the Techstream is almost the same as the tachometer indication.
(f) Record the engine speed displayed on the Techstream.
HINT
Check the engine speed when the engine is fully warmed up, and the air conditioning and all electrical accessories are off.
NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ENGINE REVOLUTION)
(a) Set the vehicle in the maintenance mode using the Techstream Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(c) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(d) Turn the Techstream on.
(e) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List.
(f) Check the values by referring to the table below.
Hybrid Control
NOTICE:
Enter the inspection mode Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
OK:
Engine speed displayed on the Techstream is almost the same as the previously recorded Techstream indication (Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List / Engine Rpm).
NG -- GO TO HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM How To Proceed With Troubleshooting
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. REPLACE POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU
(a) Replace the power management control ECU with a new or a known good one Removal.
OK:
The operation of the tachometer returns to normal.
NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- END
