Removal





BRAKE: BRAKE PEDAL: REMOVAL

1. FOLLOW PRECAUTION

(a) Follow the PRECAUTION Service Precautions.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

3. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH Removal

4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH Removal

5. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

6. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIR BAG ASSEMBLY Removal

7. DISCONNECT MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS

(a) Remove the return spring.

(b) Remove the clip and push rod pin.

(c) Disconnect the push rod clevis from the brake pedal.

8. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the shaft and nut.

(b) Remove the pedal, 2 bushes and collar.
