INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. REPLACE USB DEVICE OR "iPod"

(a) Disconnect the USB device or "iPod" from the No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly.

(b) Turn the engine switch off.

HINT
When this malfunction occurs, it is necessary to turn off the engine switch to make it possible for the vehicle to recognize a new device when it is connected.

(c) Turn the engine switch on (ACC).

(d) Connect a known good USB device or "iPod" to the No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly.

OK:

USB device or "iPod" charges.

NG -- CHECK MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU

OK -- USB DEVICE OR "iPod" WAS DEFECTIVE

2. CHECK MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU

(a) Disconnect the L128 No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU - NO. 1 STEREO JACK ADAPTER)

OK -- REPLACE NO. 1 STEREO JACK ADAPTER ASSEMBLY Removal

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU - NO. 1 STEREO JACK ADAPTER)

(a) Disconnect the h1 multi-media interface ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the L128 No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Problem Symptoms Table
