PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE PEDAL (for Automatic Transmission): REMOVAL

1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

2. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY WITH REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

3. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

4. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

Refer to the instructions for Removal of the center airbag sensor assembly Removal.

5. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR FOOTREST LH Removal

6. SEPARATE FRONT FLOOR CARPET ASSEMBLY

(a) Turn back and separate the front floor carpet assembly.

7. REMOVE NO. 3 DASH PANEL INSULATOR PAD

(a) Remove the clip and No. 3 dash panel insulator pad.

8. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR SILENCER PAD LH

9. REMOVE REAR AIR DUCT GUIDE LH

10. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 AIR DUCT

11. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY

12. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FLOOR REAR SUB PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

13. LOOSEN PARKING BRAKE

(a) Remove the lock nut from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

(b) Loosen the No. 1 wire adjusting nut and parking brake.

14. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE RETURN WITH DAMPER SPRING Removal

15. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE EQUALIZER Removal

16. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 nuts and separate the instrument panel junction block assembly.

(b) Remove the 2 bolts and 3 nuts, and separate the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the body.

(d) Remove the 3 nuts and parking brake control pedal assembly from the body.
