B2063 - Buckle Switch Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

* This circuit consists of the front seat inner belt assembly RH and LH, occupant classification ECU, center airbag sensor assembly and seat belt control ECU.

* When the driver side seat belt is fastened, the front seat inner belt assembly LH detects malfunctions in the circuit and sends information to the center airbag sensor assembly.

* When the passenger side seat belt is fastened, the front seat inner belt assembly RH detects malfunctions in the circuit and sends information to the occupant classification ECU.

* The center airbag sensor assembly sends information about the seat belt fastened/unfastened condition and circuit malfunctions through BEAN and CAN communication to the seat belt control ECU.

* The seat belt control ECU uses information from the center airbag sensor assembly to control the pre-collision safety system.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
When the seat belt control ECU is replaced with a new one, Initialization must be performed Pre-Collision System.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)

(a) Using the Techstream, enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Pre-Collision / Trouble Codes.

(b) Clear the DTCs Pre-Collision System.

(c) Recheck for DTCs.

OK:

CAN communication system DTC is not output.

NG -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (AIRBAG SYSTEM)

(a) Turn the engine switch off.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait at least 60 seconds.

(c) Check DTC for airbag system Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

Airbag system DTC is not output.

NG -- GO TO AIR BAG SYSTEM (B1650, B1656)
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM)

(a) Turn the engine switch off.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Check DTCs for the occupant classification system Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

Occupant classification system DTC is not output.

NG -- GO TO OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (B1771)
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM)

HINT
Before clearing the DTC B2063, first clear the DTCs of the occupant detection ECU, then clear the DTCs of the center airbag sensor assembly.

(a) Using the Techstream, enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Pre-Collision / Trouble Codes.

(b) Clear the DTCs Pre-Collision System.

(c) Recheck for DTCs.

OK:

DTC B2063 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU

OK -- CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS (SYMPTOM SIMULATION)
