Washer Motor Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The front light ECU receives washer switch information from the combination switch, and operates the washer motor.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (WASHER MOTOR)
(a) Select the Active Test, use the intelligent tester or Techstream to generate a control command, and then check the door lock motor function.

Front light ECU (Front controller)





OK:
Washer motor turns depending on ON / OFF command.
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT RELAY (Marking: WASH)




(a) Remove the WASH relay from the engine room No. 2 relay block.
(b) Measure the resistance of the relay.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE RELAY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WASHER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY




(a) Remove the washer jar.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the windshield washer motor connector and check the operation of the windshield washer motor assembly.
OK:





HINT: This check should be performed with the windshield washer motor and pump installed to the washer jar.

NG -- REPLACE WINDSHIELD WASHER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - BODY GROUND)




(a) Remove the front light ECU.
(b) Using a service wire, connect terminal 3 of the wire harness side connector to the body ground.
OK:
Front window washer operates.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
