High Mounted Stop Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When the brake pedal signal is received from the luggage room junction block ECU, the stop light illuminates.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (CENTER STOP LIGHT)
(a) Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the center stop light illuminates.

OK:
Center stop light illuminates.
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT CENTER STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY




(a) Remove the center stop light.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the center stop light connector and check that the center stop light illuminates.
OK:






NG -- REPLACE CENTER STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (LIGHT - ECU AND BODY GROUND)




(a) Disconnect the H18 light connector.
(b) Disconnect the L23 ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
